I thought a LibraryThing app was always going to be the stuff of my (fondest) dreams-- I needed to scan piles upon piles of books (and other media), and I have an odd habit of finding myself in bookstores, debating questions like: do I have this, or was it from the library? And was this the one I really loved, or am I mixing it up with that one I hated? Is this the book I already gave X?
So I stand in bookstores, book sales, flea markets, etc., trying to read a website-- but no more. I now know if I have the book, if I borrowed it (and would like a copy, because of its high rating), and all the other essential information.
Its as easy to edit from here as it is from the website. As Ive used the app more, Ive gotten more adept at using for purposes beyond just adding books; noodling around a bit helped a great deal. Its pretty intuitive. Its definitely not the full site, but I didnt expect a site-as-app to be that.
The scan function does remain my cure favorite feature. I have what I suspect may be unlimited numbers of books to add (catalogue so in arrears that laws of physics are needed to quantify the situation), and Ive been working on that-- its a breeze, or is now that I have the hang of it. I was attempting to use the scanner too precisely at first, but visiting the LT talk topic (hint, hint) cleared up my user error.
Cursed be he who deletes this from my phone.
